Dem Sugar-Daddy Stryker caught hurting seniors again!
If the way a man's business is run is any reflection of the sort of person he is then it turns out Jon Stryker really isn't a very nice guy at all. In fact, he might be the worst kind of man. The kind who takes advantage of the sick and infirm to line his pockets and fund his pet political projects. We learn today that the Food and Drug Administration has cited his company for providing faulty and destructive health care products that have necessitated multiple otherwise unnecessary surgeries on patients in failing health. The devastating effects on senior citizens may be the direct result of the Stryker Corp cutting corners to generate additional profit.
Of course, we learned a few months ago that the United States Justice Department had wrapped up an investigation of Styker's business dealings and concluded that the company was taking advantage of our grandparents. Their evidence was so damning that Styker settled with the Justice Department and paid $16.6 million to make the complaints go away. According to the USJD:
(Styrker's company) submitted false claims to Medicare and other federal health care programs...
The settlement resolves allegations that (Styker subsidiary) Physiotherapy... submitted claims for services to Medicare, state Medicaid programs, and the Department of Defense's TRICARE program that were falsely billed as one-on-one services and that Physiotherapy improperly retained excess or duplicate payments it received from federal health care programs.
Long and short of it, Jon Stryker's company was stealing your grandma's Medicare check. Classy, right? In light of today's FDA warnings it looks like Medicare fraud isn't nearly the worst of it.
The Associated Press reports:
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration told Kalamazoo, Mich.-based Stryker in a letter that it was aware that the company has received patient complaints since January 2005 about a range of problems, including improper fitting of hip implants that caused bone fractures. Patients also have complained about pain, difficulty walking and "squeaky" joins, and some have had pieces of implant parts break off or wear down unevenly...
The letter discusses deficiencies found during those inspections and repeatedly states that four company responses on those issues, sent between Aug. 1 and Nov. 2, were inadequate for a variety of reasons.
"Your firm has failed to perform corrective and preventive actions in order to prevent the recurrence of nonconforming product or other quality problems," the Nov. 28 letter states repeatedly.
Styker's company cut corners with no concern for patient health or well being and turned a pretty penny doing it. Recent years have seen profits at the Kalamazoo based company shoot through the roof. Recent years have also seen that money spent wildly on ultra-liberal political projects across Michigan and the United States.
Jon Stryker attempted to single-handedly purchase the Michigan Senate and House of Representatives for Democrats in 2006, is the money behind the Michigan regressisphere, is widely suspected of donating heavily to Jennifer Granholm's super-double-secret "Partners for Progress" slush fund and is a marauding crusader for the extreme left gay special rights movement. If there's a lefty cause anywhere in the State it's a good bet significant Stryker money is behind it.
Now we know where he got a lot of that cash. The only question left to ask is whether or not it even pricks the conscience of lefties knowing that they owe their livelihood and political well being to a man who makes his fortune cutting corners and potentially crippling senior citizens while swiping their Medicare checks.
