HONORED TO BE A MEMBER OF THE TEAM

I have been given the honor of contributing to this blog by two of its members Gordon and Jean Taylor, (no relation). It is my privilege to participate in this conservative venture to share conservative views on today's most pressing issues. In introducing myself I am first a Reagan Conservative. Though I am and have been a card carrying member of the Republican Party since 1976, my first loyalty in politics or in my views both personal, moral and toward issues that face this country is a conservative view point. I readily criticize the GOP when they fall from the conservatism that is the core of the party, for instance their recent big government approach and the rampant spending that in a very real sense is one of the main reasons they find themselves in the minority after the recent election. As an eternal optimist though with the problems that face us and the issues that try the very core of this nation I still believe that America, "the shining city on the hill, " as President Reagan so rightfully put it, is and will always be the last best hope for the world as liberty and freedom shine from this nation , "of the people, by the people and for the people." This nation founded on the principles of freedom and the God given right for man to decide and control his own destiny without the oppression of government or the tyranny of a dictator forcing his will upon the people is the only ray of sunlight on the face of the earth which still gives her citizens these unalienable rights without regard to race, creed or the abilities and means of our ancestors. We have no monarchy or privileged class just a nation of individuals who because of the liberty that is given to us by law have the same freedom as our neighbor to prosper and achieve as our desire warrants it. This is the essence of America, this is why we are the most prosperous and powerful nation that has ever existed. This is why our brave men and women in uniform have fought and died to preserve this nation and the freedoms that she offers. This is why today we fight against Islamic radicals who desire to destroy and end the very freedoms that make this nation what it is. This is why I began blogging at The Liberal Lie, The Conservative Truth in 2004 so that through the right we have as Americans of free speech I could express my views and my belief in this wonderful land we call home. That is a philosophy that I will continue here at Conservative News and Views and look forward to working with the fine Americans who contribute to this expression of freedom.
