The Magnitude and the Simplicity of This Statement is Awesome

This is the text of an email that was forwarded to me by a dear friend.

Cindy Sheehan asked President Bush, "Why did my son have to die in Iraq?"

Another mother asked President Kennedy, "Why did my son have to die in Viet Nam?"

Another mother asked President Truman, "Why did my son have to die in Korea?

Another mother asked President F. D. Roosevelt, "Why did my son have to die at Iwo Jima?"

Another mother asked President W. Wilson, "Why did my son have to die on the battlefield of France?"

Yet another mother asked President Lincoln, "Why did my son have to die at Gettysburg?

And yet another mother asked President G. Washington, "Why did my son have to die near Valley Forge?"

Then long, long ago, a mother asked, "Heavenly Father, why did my Son have to die on a cross outside of Jerusalem?"

The answers to all these are similar -- "that others may have life and dwell in peace, happiness and freedom.

"IF YOU DON'T STAND BEHIND OUR TROOPS, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO STAND IN FRONT OF THEM!!

Gordon, that is one of the most inspirational emails I have ever read! I plan on passing it on to all of my friends!

I'm new to your site and WOW - that truly brought tears to my eyes and how true it is. It is just a shame that MSM wouldn't even dream of publishing something like that! It would make all those negative naysayers out there hang their heads in shame! I have a few friends serving in Iraq and recently went to www.FamiliesUnitedMission.com where I signed a letter in support of our troops. If you haven't done so already, I highly recommend the site and passing it on to others who want to support our troops. God bless!

luv2box, thank you for coming, and you're not the only new one. We have only had this blog for 3 days!

We are greatful for your comments and hope you return often.

This is an inspirational post. It proves the point that in retrospect the challenges of the present our acknowledged and praised. I hope the MSM acknowledges the great accomplishments on our troops this April 9th.

I completely agree. Iraq Liberation Day is coming up on April 9th. This is a symbolic time to share our mutual respect and appreciation for those in uniform.

Cindy Sheehan knows why her son died: Casey volunteered, twice, to serve his country; he was killed on a missions to save some of his fellow soldiers.

The question's been answered many, many times. She just doesn't like the answer.
